School bags 'causing low back pain'

Rucksacks set with school books have been related to higher amounts of upper back pain in a very study of Spanish young children.

The findings, reported in Archives of Disease when they are young, said many pupils had ""excessively loaded"" backpacks.

This became connected to higher degrees of back pain inside the 1,403 young children enjoying the learning.

The analysis happened at Hospital da Costa in Burela and University Hospital Son Dureta in Palma.

The report's authors said young children should not carry anything which weighs more(a) 10% in their body mass.

Measurements were removed from pupils aged 12-17 from 11 schools in Northern Spain. It demonstrated that nearly sixty-six per cent of pupils had backpacks that had been 10% heavier than they were.

The load with the bags was then analysed for upper back pain, measured as at least 15 days every year with lower back pain.

The pupils were separated into four groups good weight in their bags. Pupils from the group while using heaviest bags were 50% almost certainly going to have reported lower back pain than in the group with all the lightest bags.

The report said back pain would be a bigger problem in school girls and that danger increased as we grow old.

The authors concluded: ""The outcomes obtained have strong implications.

""Many children transport excessively loaded backpacks, a which could not be allowed for workers in employment.
